Wipes on Trash

As a guild we have bid a fond farewell to team Wicker/Webb as they pursue their raiding and gaming aspirations on another server. (zul'jin for those wondering and don't know)  While we shall miss this part of our WOT family as they have left the nest to pursue their dreams elsewhere, they are far from the first group or individuals to move on from WOT. We have lived through the El era, the Rem and Steve era, the Sockmaster era, and of course most recently the Wicker/Webb era. Several players near and dear to us have also moved on from the guild previously, Tanex, Rem and Steve, Sockmaster, Theo, and Znoxy just to name a few. One thing that has remained the same throughout is that WOT has continued to move forward. We are in a transition period, a period that will be defined by those of us still here in WOT. Where we go from here is up to us as a guild. What we get out of WOT highly depends on what it is we want and the effort we put in to get that from the guild. Please take a moment and say what it is YOU want out of WOT. Where do you want things to go as a guild? Do you want us to stay with just my 10 man group and a handful of socials? or are there others that are interested in forming a new 2nd 10 man group? Are we interested in recruiting in more players to form said group? What rules would you like to see revoked or implemented? What changes would you like to see? Thoughts or comments on leadership moving forward? Please in as much detail as needed answer some of these questions and/or describe what you would like to see moving forward as a guild.

If you have seen my in-game spam or forum posts, WoT is going to be starting a Rated Battleground Team after patch 5.2. If you are interested in becoming a part of the WoT RBG team, please fill out a guild application and indicate that you are applying for the RBG team in any raid spots and please ignore any questions that apply only to raiding. RBG team times will Wednesday evenings and/or Saturday around mid-day. If you have any questions, fell free to respond to this or hit me up in game. Guild age limits still apply for the RBG team, so 18+ only will be considered. Have a great day and hope to see you on the team!

As you should all have seen on the guild message of the day, there is a meeting this Thursday night.  It is mandatory for those in raiding positions.  All are encouraged to come as this meeting concerns everyone in the guild.  Be prepared to treat this like a raid, as the officers and my co-gm will be.  Many things will be discussed and issues will be addressed, so be ready to be attentive and cooporative.  Those not able to make the meeting due to scheduling conflicts shall let Dylee, Wickerbasket, Sarlek or Beetscepter know that you cannot make it and why so we can take things into account accordingly. 

If you have anything that you wish addressed on Thursday, please bring it forward ingame to one of the four of us before Wednesday night. 

Also, congrats to Beetscepter and Sarlek for becoming new officers, I hope they are as prepared as Wicker and I am to take our jobs more seriously.

We are aware that some of you are having problems syncing your characters to your profile, preventing you from applying.

Here is the explanation from a wowstead admin:

There is a guide on the best way to verify your character in our FAQ.  You should not do another verification attempt until all your profiles display the same.  Otherwise you can throw it off.  Since the character information has to be updated through several areas.  From in-game > Armory > API > WowStead.  This updating process can take anywhere from a few minutes to 10-20 minutes depending on the load and your location in line for the update.  Though verification character do get priority in line they may not always get front of the line.  Thus a wait may be in order.

Check your Armory prior to an attempt to make sure the API gets cached with the new information as well.  Otherwise the API may have old information such as an item no longer equipped that it will send us. 

The limit of tries is only for a set period of time.  You can only have X amount in a Y time span.  You will get more tries later.  This is similar to guessing wrong passwords and being blocked from trying again to help protect your account from fruadelant attempts to access it. 

If you continue to have issues verifying your character or have used up all the attempts your guild site's admin can guild verify you in the mean time.  This will give you the access to your character's permissions.

If you have problems syncing, wait 5-10 minutes and try again. If it fails again, wait another 5 minutes.

If you are still having problems after 30 minutes, either get in touch with Sockmaster, Webbling, or Wickerbasket in-game, or send Sockmaster a PM via this website.

So Team wicker is finally 8/8 heroic.   I'm proud of you guys <3  grats to Wickerbasket, Webbling, Bobonuts, Vernedad, Bairran, Sarlek, Telaki, Cowzat, Lokvz and Mudd!!!

Wicker's group has been 6/8 for a little while now. They're "happily" working on Spine.

PS: We still need a 10th for our 8/8H raid. We don't want to keep forcing people who quit the game to raid with us. :(

Our main 8/8 heroic group needs a dps with healing offspec to replace a fallen friend. Would prefer a priest if possible but would entertain the idea of a boomkin or ele shaman as long as the skill/gear/needed offspec is there and viable. If accepted as full time after a tryout, joining guild is a requirement. Fill an app and contact GM sockmaster with any questions, or officer Dropdeadfred.

Grats to group fred on their Heroic Ultraxion kill, putting the guild at 4/8 H.  I'm hoping to see Heroic Hagara down sometime soon guys! :D

I am here to regretfully inform you that a guild member and awesome friend has passed away.  On December 30th, 2011 James Asbury, better known to us as "Loudeath" aka "Heals on Wheels" aka "Lt. Dan" died due to hemorrhaging from complications of anesthesia.  No one ever expected this would happen to a member of the WoT family and I even thought they were just kidding around.  May you rest easy wherever you may be and I'm sorry we were never able to get that damn sword cane to drop for you. All our prayers, thoughts and condolences go out to the friends and family he left behind- his time here was entirely too short.   RIP Friend, we won't forget you.

It's been a long road my friend- a lot of wipes/wins/asking "Incan how many things do you have now?!" after every boss down-it's finally finished.  Congrats, you deserve it!

Another team hits 7/7 and a job well done to Webbling, Wickerbasket, Lokio, Hezekiah, Brazz, Killer, Mofflebon, Plagie, Alexandrya, and Berduga!  After a rocky start and a choppy roster that changed more times Steve's talent specs, you guys did it!   Sorry I am late on the post, ily all and am proud to be in guild with people who stuck through all the roster changes and kept their eyes on the prize.  Congrats again you cuties!
